So, the past month has been a pretty good one. More gigs, more time spent with friends, and plenty to look forward to. Not a bad place to be, all things considered.
The beer check? 10 weeks and 2 days.

Yep, that’s how long it’s been since my last beer. And do you know what? It’s been alright. Not earth-shattering, not some monumental battle against the universe. Just a decision I’ve stuck with, one day at a time.
I’m not saying beer is banished from my life forever. There’s a birthday coming up, and I fully intend to have a beer to celebrate. Christmas and holidays are also on the approved list. It’s all part of the plan. A carefully managed relationship with beer, rather than letting beer manage me.
Whether that plan works in the long run remains to be seen, but for now, I’m happy with how things are going. Sometimes, progress isn’t about making grand declarations or changing everything overnight. Sometimes, it’s just about proving to yourself that you can do things differently.
And talking of looking forward, I’ve booked a holiday!
Not just any holiday, either. Tanzania!
Sebastian and I are heading off on what promises to be the trip of a lifetime. Safari adventures, hopefully spotting some incredible wildlife, followed by the beaches of Zanzibar.

Wild animals, African sunsets and white sandy beaches. Not a bad way to spend some time away from the usual madness of everyday life.
There’s something exciting about having an adventure on the horizon. Something to plan for, look forward to and get ridiculously excited about. I think we all need a bit of that from time to time.
And finally, there’s some other news brewing in the background.
Big news. Exciting news. The sort of news I’m itching to share, but can’t just yet.
All I can say is that it’s coming soon.
Watch this space.
For now, I’ll keep enjoying the gigs, spending time with good people, counting the beer-free days and looking forward to whatever comes next.
Because life doesn’t suddenly become straightforward just because you’re trying to get a few things right. But every now and then, things start to feel as though they’re moving in the right direction.
